Xue Hongmei is the wife of Wang Zhongguo and Chen Fan's grandmother on his mother's side. She heavily detests Chen Fan and dotes on her other grandson Wang Cheng.
Personality[]
Xue Hongmei had always looked down and she had never been friendly to the Chen Family, which made some of the other family members followed her lead and acted similarly. She demands respect from the younger generation of the Wang Family and was infuriated when Chen Fan did not reciprocate these manners, despite already hating him to begin with and giving him no reason to respect her.
Background[]
According to Chen Fan, she was born into a wealthy, traditional, and major family of the Republic of China, which resulted in her being very old-fashioned in terms of values. She had been a rich lady since she was young and had always valued manners between generations.
History[]
When Chen Fan was a child, he visited the Wang Family with his parents. The old man stayed silent, but Xue Hongmei had always looked down on Chen Kexing and she had never been friendly to Chen Fan and his Dad. The other family members followed her lead and acted similarly.
She has always hated Chen Fan ever since he was young, always blaming him whenever something happened between him and other children of the Wang Family. She also doted on her other grandson Wang Cheng heavily, praising him as the future successor of the family. When Chen Fan killed Wang Cheng for plotting against him, she cried out in anguish and cursed him.
She watched Fang Qiong's trial when the world united against the North Qiong Sect. She smiled with glee during the proceedings and wished that Fang Qiong's punishment would be execution so that Chen Fan would know the pain of losing a loved one.
She was shocked when Chen Fan broke into Washington D.C. after decimating the Japanese and American armies, so much so that she collapsed and eventually got a heart attack and then died.
