Fang Qiong's father and Su Susu's husband. He is a tycoon in Jin City.
Su Susu called him back to the house from his mistress's bed when she finds out Chen Fan and Fang Qiong got a marriage certificate.
Unlike his wife, Fang Mingde is accepting of the marriage because Chen Fan is the son of his friend and the Jinxiu Group is rapidly growing.
Fang Mingde then recognizes Chen Fan as Master Chen based off a photo Song Binsheng had shown him at a banquet. When they realize Chen Fan's status and influence, Su Susu eventually accepts to the matchmaking, but says they need to get engaged and each other's parents first.
At the Su family, Fang Mingde enjoys an increase in status after Chen Fan shows off his influence in front of the Su family.
