At one point of time in the past, He Dao True Immortal, the Ancient Moon Immortal Sect Master found the Exquisite Ink Palace Lotus somewhere unknown, but possibly somewhere around his domain.
Hundreds of years ago, the Red Blood Immortal Sect Master tried to get in touch with He Dao True Immortal to trade the lotus, but could never find him and eventually gave up doing so.[2]

Interested on Chen Fan, He Dao gives him the Ink Palace Lotus to fulfill the opportunity alongside the Ice Palace Fairy Lotus that Chen Fan has. Chen Fan then proceeded to refine the two lotus alongside the Grand Dao Furnace Scriptures to practice the Extreme Great Dao of the Yin and Yang Immortal Sect.[1]
When Chen Fan revealed the Infinity Dao Completely Integrated Powerful Technique to the Red Blood Immortal Sect Master, he recognizes the technique and told Chen Fan about how he tried to get the Lotus. Though in Chen Fan's hand, he is not concerned and instead aimed for the Tree Of Origin in his hand and ignoring the lotus.[2]
