Wei Fu was determined to let his inner force cultivation technique die with him as it damages the practitioner's lungs. Therefore, none of his sons practiced to become martial artists. However, Wei Ziqing's under her drive for martial arts pestered her grandfather enough until he finally agreed to let her practice.
She likes listening to martial arts stories, especially ones about Ye Nantian.

Chen Fan first meets her with her grandpa Wei Fu. At first, she wanted to have a duel with Chen Fan after he shook his head at her martial arts stances, but when her grandfather notices he is a Grandmaster, he befriends Chen Fan. Although she doesn't know why her grandfather treats Chen Fan with so much respect, after he treats Wei Fu's illness and makes them an improved inner force cultivation technique called "Secret Art of the Wei," she begins to see how valuable a Grandmaster is when her grandfather compares him to Ye Nantian.
She later sees Chen Fan show off his taekwondo skills and invites him to an auction. When she sees him standing off against Chu Minghui and is about to be kicked out, she sticks up for him, bewildering Jiang Churan and her friends. Later, she asks Chen Fan to spare Chu Minghui's life, which he agrees.
She helps mend the relations between the Wei family and Chen Fan after her cousin, Wei Ziping offends Chen Fan.
After Wei Changfeng betrayed Chen Fan and monopolized the Yun Wu Spirit Water business and sided with the Hong Sect, the interactions with the Wei family and Chen Fan become minimal.
After Xiao Xuan broke off his engagement with Qin Yaner due to her 'engagement' with Chen Fan under the Wang Family's scheme, Xiao Xuan meets with the Wei family at a restaurant under talks of marrying Wei Ziqing. In a nearby room, Chen Fan takes the chance for revenge, where he kills Wei Changfeng and cuts off his ties with the Wei family. Ultimately, the engagement between Xiao Xuan and Wei Ziqing didn't go through and Wei Ziqing and Wei Fu were left to lament for having betrayed Chen Fan.
Later, it was discovered that Wei Ziqing decided to atone for her and the Wei Family's mistake by devoting herself to becoming the personal caretaker of Aunt Tang, who she knew was very important to Chen Fan. She would constantly visit her, showering her with gifts and providing her company which brought her great joy. Overtime, they became genuine friends as noted by Aunt Tang when Chen Fan returned to Earth after repelling the Seven Imperishable Sects. Upon hearing this, Chen Fan acknowledged her deeds and restored Wei Ziqing's youth and vitality as an unexpected reward.
